About us

Shannons Community Centre

As a Charity β€˜The Shannon Bradshaw Trust’ were approached to see if they would be interested in taking over the old Penketh Day Centre and use it as a Community Centre. We thought it was a fantastic idea and set to work getting it ready for a grand opening.

We share the building with the Police at their new Police station on Meeting Lane in Penketh, the first of its kind in the country, we had a joint grand opening on the 18th March.

The community has grown in to a hub for local residents, friends and businesses using the community centre for a variety of purposes. Groups now hold regular meetings at the centre and you can book the centre for parties and celebrations.

Our cafe has grown from strength to strength offering food throughout the day.

The Morgan Foundation

Funding from the Morgan Foundation has been a true gift! it has helped us take on a very shy young man who was interested in cooking. Signed up for college and has come on leaps and bounds the transformation has been amazing. His cooking has gone over and above what we ever thought ad he will now achieve is level 3 and will be a fully qualified chef at the end of his course.

Without the funding from the Morgan Foundation we would not be here today, it enabled us to take on an apprentice chef to keep the kitchen open, he has come on leaps and bounds and it has changed his life 100%, David came from a very uncertain past having the opportunity to offer him a job and also a career has been life changing for him and we have watched him grow into a young man with a future.
